A manifold is a pipe fitting with several lateral outlets that connect flow lines from one or more wells. This connection directs flow to heater-treaters, separators, or other devices.

A flow-routing subsea hardware (subsea flow router) connects subsea trees and flow lines. It is used to optimize the subsea layout arrangement and reduce the quantity of risers connected to the platform. If connected to dual flow lines, the manifold can typically accommodate pigging and route production from a specified tree to a specified flowline.
